Machine Gun Kelly has gotten himself into his fair share of conflicts with other artists — and their fanbases, by extension — throughout his career. But there’s one group of fans the rapper would never want to be on the outs with: Swifties.

MGK faced off with Trippie Redd on Hot Ones Versus, a truth-or-dare edition of the popular show usually hosted by Sean Evans. In this format, two guests interview each other, posing a series of questions that the other has to answer truthfully or take on a spicy chicken wing instead. “You offered to pay $1 million if Travis Kelce would come play for the Cleveland Browns,” Redd prompted MGK, who just appeared with him on the collaborative EP genre : sadboy. “Burn that bridge by saying three mean things about Taylor Swift.”

It was a death trap of a question, but MGK didn’t take the bait. “Ladies and gentlemen, you have got to be out of your motherfucking mind if you think I want any smoke with that fanbase,” the rapper said without hesitation. “Also, Taylor is a saint and very nice to me. And Travis is my bro.” Across the table, Redd wanted a little more drama from the moment, teasing: “Kiss her feet while you’re at it.”

But MGK wasn’t having it, adding: “She’s very nice. She’s very, very nice.” He also took a moment to clarify his offer to Kelce, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs and has been dating Swift for nearly a year. “And also, to the narrative of people that were like, ‘That’s it?’ I said I would give him $1 million spending money on top of whatever the NFL — I’m not the fucking NFL, so obviously I don’t have to pay him, like, $30 million or $40 million, whatever,” he explained. “I said I’ll give you a bonus of $1 million and we can — I’m just gonna eat a chicken wing.”

The deal MGK offered was actually a little sweeter. In November 2023, the rapper called into the athlete’s New Heights podcast and made his pitch.

“I’m sure you get asked this question behind closed doors a lot, but I would be remiss if due to the nature of our friendship, and just as a Clevelander, if I did not insert this question personally,” Kelly said. “I will give you $500,000 cash upon arrival just for shopping or whatever you want as well as matching that same amount as a donation to both of our high schools, both Shaker Heights and Cleveland Heights … as well as every day breakfast and coffee delivery from my restaurant, if you would just come home and put on these colors right here.”
