Lizzo Claps Back At Candace Owens' Negative Comments On 'The Joe Budden Podcast'

During a recent interview on “The Joe Budden Podcast,” right-wing talking head Candace Owens once again brought up Lizzo’s appearance. Somehow, Owens and the “Pump It Up” rapper wound up discussing “fat acceptance.” That’s when the notorious conservative said that being anorexic isn’t healthy—and being Lizzo’s size isn’t healthy either.
Owens also claimed that Lizzo goads people into feeling sorry for her, which is strategic on her part. “I don’t like the game that people play where they do something that is so obviously outrageous, like, you know, Lizzo in a thong shaking your a** cheeks,” she stated.
Owens continued: “You know what that was. This is a. Disgusting, b. Perverted, and people take their kids to the games. Is there no space that’s safe? “[And] then she’s like, ‘if you don’t like it, that’s your problem.’ Like no, you are being problematic. And now you’re playing the game where you do something outrageous, and then, when we outrage, you pretend that we’re the crazy ones.
“I’m not dealing with that. Stop gaslighting me, okay?” Lizzo seemingly shaded the unwarranted commentary with an Instagram post. In the clip, she lip-synced to a Reels sound that said: “Hey everyone, it’s come to my attention that some of you think I have thick skin. I don’t. I never have. I never will. Everything you say deeply, deeply hurts me, affects me, keeps me up at night; you have to be nice to me. That’s the deal moving forward, okay?”
Then the “About Damn Time” captioned the post: “I literally just be minding my business please keep my name out ya mouf unless it’s something positive or real.. pls n thank u.” Owens has always regarded Lizzo as low-hanging fruit, as this isn’t the first time she disparaged the star’s appearance. Unfortunately, it’ll only be a matter of time before she insults the singer again.
