Little Debbie Has Turned Its Iconic Zebra Cakes Into New Mini Donuts
Little Debbie is the mastermind brand behind many of our favorite snacks, including Swiss Rolls, Cosmic Brownies, Honey Buns, and more. Another one of those treats are Zebra Cakes, and Little Debbie has decided to turn them into Mini Donuts. Let the excitement ensue!
The classic Zebra Cakes consist of yellow cake that’s layered with a creme filling and covered in white icing and fudge stripes. The donuts are similar, with yellow cake that’s covered with vanilla frosting and fudge stripes. So the only thing missing is the creme filling.
The new Little Debbie Zebra Mini Donuts are arriving in stores nationwide beginning in mid-March 2022. They’re packaged in a resealable bag, and have a suggested retail price of $2.19.
“When you go into a donut shop in your neighborhood, you expect to see a wide variety of choices,” Hannah Stoker, the McKee food scientist responsible for developed the new treat, said in a press release. “Some of the ones that always stand out are the doughnuts with stripes. The Little Debbie brand knows a thing or two about stripes, so it only made sense to develop Zebra Mini Donuts.”
Little Debbie offers a range of Mini Donuts, including the everyday Frosted, Glazed, and Powdered, along with limited-edition varieties for seasons and holidays. Here’s to us keeping our fingers crossed that the Zebra one sticks around!
