Lineup announced for annual Arts Splash concert series

Apr. 22—HIGH POINT — The schedule has been set for Arts Splash, the High Point Arts Council's annual free summer outdoor concert series.

The concerts, to be held on Fridays from 6 to 8 p.m. at various parks throughout the greater High Point area, will feature music from the pop, rock, Top 40, reggae, Latin, R&B and jazz genres. The first concert will take place May 31 at Washington Terrace Park.

Concertgoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Food and alcohol (when allowed in the park) will be available for purchase at concerts, but no outside alcohol will be allowed in. The beer vendor for Arts Splash is Paddled South Brewing Co., and food truck partners include Kibi's Crazy Casserole, Taco Bro's and DonutNV, among others.

This year's schedule:

—May 31: Sahara Reggae Band, Washington Terrace Park, 101 Gordon St., High Point.

—June 7: NC Revelers Orchestra (honoring the 80th anniversary of D-Day), Wrenn Miller Park, 101 Guilford Road, Jamestown. This concert is being held in conjunction with Jamestown's Music in the Park series.

—June 28: The Get Go (jazz fusion), Oak Hollow Festival Park, 1841 Eastchester Drive, High Point.

—July 12: Fifth Floor (pop/rock), Mendenhall Transportation Terminal, 220 E. Commerce Ave., High Point.

—July 19: Spindle 45 (Top 40/R&B), Creekside Park, 214 Park Drive, Archdale.

—Aug. 9: West End Mambo (Latin/salsa), High Point City Lake Park, 602 W. Main St., Jamestown.
