Let’s Get Grabbed By The Collar Episode 1 Recap & Spoilers: What Does Kim Ha-Neul Find?
KBS2 aired Episode 1 of Let’s Get Grabbed By The Collar on Monday, March 18, 2024. The brand-new thriller K-drama stars Kim Ha-Neul as the central character, Seo Jung-Won. The premiere episode of the series sees Seo Jung-Won as a fearless journalist and news anchor. It also introduces the audience to two other prime characters, Kim Tae-Heon (Yeon Woo-Jin) and Seol Woo-Jae (Jang Seung-Jo).
Seol Woo-Jae is Seo Jung-Won’s husband and a novelist. Kim Tae-Heon is a fierce and skillful police detective. In episode 1 of “Let’s Get Grabbed By The Collar,” Seo Jung-Won exposes a powerful assemblyman through her show ‘Nothing Uncovered,’ which leads to her getting caught up in a complex and dangerous case. Furthermore, the episode shows Seo Jung-Won discovering the dead bodies of two women in two different scenarios.
Let’s Get Grabbed By The Collar Episode 1: Kim Ha-Neul finds the dead body of a woman
Episode 1 of Let’s Get Grabbed By The Collar begins with Seo Jung-Won (Kim Ha-Neul) storming inside a room to expose a corrupted assemblyman and one of his colleagues. She asks them various questions while a cameraman records everything. The next day, she exposes them on television as a news anchor on her show.
Being in the profession, Seo Jung-Won often gets threat calls from the people she exposes in public using her show. However, this time, the assemblyman, Mo Hyung-Taek, did not give her a call. After that, the episode sees Seo Jung-Won returning home with her husband, Seol Woo-Jae (Jang Seung-Jo). Seol Woo-Jae seems like an extremely loving and supportive husband who always cares for his wife.
Their interaction clearly shows that they do not have a good relationship. On top of that, Seol Pan-Ho is quite upset with Seo Jung-Won as assemblyman Mo Hyung-Taek is his long-time friend. Thereafter, Let’s Get Grabbed By The Collar episode 1 introduces viewers to police detective Kim Tae-Heon (Yeon Woo-Jin), who impressively catches a criminal and saves a civilian from getting hurt.
The first episode of the K-drama also shows Seo Jung-Won talking to an anonymous person on the phone. The person seems to be someone who often gives tips to journalists to find evidence against criminals. This time, he tips Seo Jung-Won on how to find a burner phone related to the case. However, when she arrives at the location, she finds a dead body of a woman.

After that, Seo Jung-Won (Kim Ha-Neul) calls the police on the spot, and Detective Kim Tae-Heon (Yeon Woo-Jin) and another officer arrive at the location. Both investigate the crime scene, and it is evident that the woman has been murdered. Then, they ask her to come to the police station to give her statement on the case. At the police station, suddenly assemblyman Mo Hyung-Taek appears. The episode then reveals that the woman who has died is the housekeeper of Mo Hyung-Taek.
It seems like the assemblyman is trying to harass her by getting her involved in his housekeeper’s mysterious murder as an act of revenge for exposing him to the public. Seeing the dead body of the woman triggers some painful memories for Seo Jung-Won as she was also the one to have found her father’s dead body at home during her school days.
Then, the episode jumps two months later. It shows that Seo Jung-Won is taking therapy and feeling slightly better. She has been getting a text message from an anonymous person. The text says that she should expose her deceiving husband. However, she does not believe that her husband can do anything wrong behind her.
Toward the end of episode 1 of “Let’s Get Grabbed By The Collar,” Cha Eun-Sae (Han Ji-Eun) contacts Seo Jung-Won to tell her that she has some important information for her. As assemblyman Mo Hyung-Taek is the actress’ sponsor, Seo Jung-Won thinks the information is related to him. Thus, she goes to meet her.
However, upon their meeting, actress Cha Eun-Sae tells Seo Jung-Won that she is in a relationship with her husband Seol Woo-Jae (Jang Seung-Jo). She also tells her that she is pregnant with Seol Woo-Jae’s child, but she fails to show her any evidence. Thus, Seo Jung-Won refuses to believe her. But the news shook her badly, and she started following her husband. She first thinks he is going inside a clinic but then sees him going into a marriage counseling session.
At the end of episode 1, Seo Jung-Won discovers another dead body of a woman. To her utter shock, it is none other than actress Cha Eun-Sae’s dead body. The episode ends right there on a mysterious note.
