The Legend of Shen Li Ep 8 Recap & Spoilers: Do Zhao Liying & Lin Gengxin Reunite?

The ongoing Xianxia C-drama The Legend of Shen Li released episode eight on March 20, 2024. It features Zhao Liying and Lin Gengxin in the leading roles. The episode focuses on Shen Li (Zhao Liying) finding peace after reuniting with Xing Zhi (Lin Gengxin).

Shen Li sends Mo Fang (Xin Yun Lai) and General Zixia off to deal with the miasma at the border of the immortal realm. Zixia urges Shen Li to tell his family about his sudden departure. He thanks Shen Li for saving his family from the black miasma.

Zixia’s inattentiveness causes a Chimei to pass through the Xutian Abyss. Shen Mu Yue (Zeng Li) seeks help from the divine realm to handle the situation. Meanwhile, Shen Li asks permission to go to the battlefield as many of her soldiers have been wounded. But Mu Yue turns down her request and forbids her from even leaving her mansion for the whole month.

Shen Li does not understand the need to seek help from the divine realm. She thinks that they are capable of handling the situation on their own. She feels like Mu Yue has become a puppet of the divine realm. Shen Li thinks killing the Chimei is better than catching it alive. Frustrated, she returns to her palace and goes into seclusion for the time being.

The Legend of Shen Li Ep 8: Lin Gengxin heals Zhao Liying

Meanwhile, Shen Li escapes from her palace to join the soldiers at the barracks. Mu Yue sends people to go after her and brings her back. Chaos breaks out on the battlefield as a mystical scorpion-tailed fox-like creature attacks the soldiers viciously. Mo Fang narrowly escapes death as Shen Li saves him from being eaten by the fox.

In episode eight of The Legend of Shen Li, Lord Bicang (Shen Li) goes head-on against the beast. As it almost kills Shen Li, Mo Fang comes to her rescue and takes the fatal blow instead. This instance angers Shen Li. She lets the beast swallow her alive and then bursts it into pieces from within.

Meanwhile, Xing Zhi arrives at the battlefield. Shen Li can not believe her own eyes. Seeing Xing Zhi brings her comfort. She keeps telling him how much she misses him, and she passes out in his arms.

Shen Li has a nightmare where Xing Zhi leaves her behind and disappears. She wakes up from her slumber with tears rolling down her cheeks. She finds herself lying on her bed with wounds all over her body. Shen Li is relieved when she sees Mo Fang. She asks him not to blame himself, as even the strongest can’t withstand at times. Mo Fang confesses having feelings for Shen Li, but she does not pay attention to him.

Shen Li orders Mo Fang to get rid of these thoughts. Meanwhile, Xing Zhi arrives there and starts to treat Shen Li using his spiritual powers. He announces that he will stay by her side until she completely heals and gets back on her feet.

The Legend of Shen Li airs throughout the week and is available for streaming on Tencent Video, WeTV, and Viki.
