Lebron James, Jason Sudeikis Partner to Introduce Taco Bell’s New $5 Taco Discovery Box

Taco Bell is launching a new deal box for Taco Tuesday, and with it a new sitcom-inspired ad campaign starring Lebron James and Jason Sudeikis.

The $5 Taco Discovery Box will be available exclusively on Tuesdays from today, April 23, until June 4. Taco Bell’s “value-driven offer” combines three of the chain’s most beloved tacos: the Crunchy Taco, the Doritos Locos Taco, and the brand-new Cantina Chicken Crispy Taco. It also comes with a medium fountain drink, making it the perfect lunch combo.

The introduction of the $5 Taco Discovery Box is being promoted with the release of Taco Twosday, a faux '80s-style sitcom which follows two best friends (James and Sudeikis) committed to trying radically new things each Tuesday. It’s Taco Bell’s way of encouraging consumers to step outside of their comfort zone and discover something fresh.

“We should all strive to try something new on Tuesdays whether it’s a new taco, a different combination of your favorites or simply stepping out of our comfort zones during the week,” Sudeikis said in a press release. “Taco Tuesday at Taco Bell makes trying something new easier than ever!”

Taco Bell is particularly excited about its Taco Discovery Box as it will give consumers a chance to try the Cantina Chicken Crispy Taco. It’s the latest addition to the chain’s Cantina Chicken Menu, which boasts a variety of chicken burritos, tacos, and quesadillas.

"Last year’s Taco Tuesday liberation was only the start, and now it’s on us to provide our fans with new innovations, experiences, and value-driven offerings that continue to make Taco Bell a part of their Tuesday routines,” Taylor Montgomery, Taco Bell’s Chief Marketing Officer, said. “Our new Cantina Chicken Menu is quickly becoming a fan-favorite and this $5 Taco Discovery Box makes it easier than ever for consumers to get a taste with the Cantina Chicken Crispy Taco that’s included within.”
