Just months before she died, legendary actress Marilyn Monroe posed for photographer Bert Stern at the Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles.

Decades later, Stern's photos from that session — dubbed "The Last Sitting" — is being showcased as part of a selling exhibition at Sotheby's.

"Marilyn Monroe: The Last Sitting, Photographs by Bert Stern," debuted Friday and runs through June 16. It features 11 oversized prints ranging in price from $20,000 to $65,000.

Each print is signed by Stern, said Aimee Pflieger, Sotheby’s vice president and senior specialist, photographs.

Two of the prints — "Marilyn’ (Double X)” and “‘Marilyn’ (The Last Sitting Book Cover)” — feature large orange-red marks superimposed on the actress’ face and body. These marks were made by Monroe on the negatives themselves during her review of the images after the sitting, Pflieger said.

"This is the largest solo exhibition of Bert Stern’s iconic images in almost two decades, and also features two unique prints," Pflieger told the Daily News. "The iconic mages from this body of work have become some of the most celebrated and collected images of Marilyn Monroe."

The exhibition is the fifth and final of the season for Sotheby's, which is at 50 Cocoanut Row, Suite 101.
