Lainey Wilson Receives Yet Another Huge Honor

Lainey Wilson's country reign continues. The "Watermelon Moonshine" singer will be the subject of a documentary-style special produced by Robin Roberts' ABC News Studios and available to stream on Hulu next month.
"I look forward to telling stories about talented women who are strong and authentic," Roberts said in a statement (via Variety). "Lainey is definitely one of those women, and I can’t wait to share her uplifting story with audiences around the world."
Wilson, who was born and raised in the tiny town of Baskin, Louisiana, started out performing as a Hannah Montana impersonator. She moved to Nashville, where she spent her early days living in a camper, after high school in 2011. "I had some of the darkest days of my entire life in that camper," she recalled to Today’s Country Radio with Kelleigh Bannen. "It would be 20 degrees outside, my furnace wasn't working, and I would just wrap up in jackets. I could see my breath in the camper, and I thought, just to myself, 'Lord, I hope this is temporary. I hope this is temporary because it's hard.'"
She went on to release her self-titled debut in 2014 followed by her sophomore effort, Tougher, two years later. The success of the latter album led to a second self-titled record and a publishing deal in 2018. From there, she toured with Morgan Wallen, made an appearance on Yellowstone and became a bonafide star.

Fans can expect to see her clean up at this year's ACM Awards, too, where she's nominated five times.
