Kristen Welker is growing her family, revealing she and her husband are expecting a second child via surrogacy.

“John and I are thrilled to announce we are welcoming a second baby to our family with the help of another amazing surrogate!” the “Meet the Press” moderator said Tuesday on NBC’s “Today” show.

“We hope that our news offers hope to others who are trying to build their own families,” Welker told “Today” co-hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb.

Welker, 47, first shared her and husband John Hughes’s surrogacy story in 2021, saying she tried to get pregnant for two years through in vitro fertilization and learned her uterus was too thin for childbirth.

The couple’s daughter, Margot, was born in June 2021.

“If you had told me five years ago that I would be the mother of a beautiful little girl and we would be about to welcome a second baby, I would not have believed you, because it’s been such a long journey,” Welker said Tuesday.

She added that as an only child, she “always wanted to have two kids.”

Calling their surrogate an “angel on Earth,” Welker and Hughes revealed Margot will soon have a little brother at home.

“We need advice on being boy parents!” Welker, who last year was named moderator of “Meet the Press,” said with a laugh.

Guthrie quipped about the timing of the birth of Welker and Hughes’s son, who’s expected in a few weeks.

“You’ve got a big election season, but that’s not until November,” Guthrie said. “So, I think this baby actually knew when to come.”

Welker replied, “He’s right on time.”
