"There was this kind of chemistry, this vibe," the "Facts of Life" alum says.

Kim Fields knows one of the facts of life is that some romances are destined to be just a fling — like the one she shared with fellow teen sitcom star Jason Bateman in the '80s.

The Facts of Life alum, 54, appeared on Tuesday's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live and revealed that she and Bateman, 55, shared a "sweet teen kiss" that never turned into anything more.

"Jason was on a show called It's Your Move, which was a spinoff from a show called Silver Spoons," Fields said. "And Facts of Life, we were all there filming these wonderful '80s TV shows together… And so we would all do these game shows and things together, and so we did a show called Body Language. And while we were filming — and we knew each other before then — I had an appearance actually to perform 'Dear Michael' and the other song at the Tropicana. There was this kind of chemistry, this vibe, and so I invited him to come and watch me perform, and he did. Before I went on stage we were backstage and had this sweet teen kiss."

As the audience oohed, aahed, and applauded, the Living Single alum laughed, then added, "And then it was like, that happened. And then we just went on with our lives and our careers and have the utmost respect for one another."

Deciding not to press further, host Jimmy Kimmel quipped, "I know you're dad's here. I'll get the rest of the story from Jason. (EW has reached out to a representative for Bateman for comment.)

Fields, whose other TV credits include Good Times, Diff'rent Strokes, and The Upshaws, is married to Christopher Morgan, whom she wed in 2007. They share sons Sebastian, 16, and Quincy, 10. Bateman (Ozark, Arrested Development) is married to Amanda Anka, and they share two daughters: Francesca, 17, and Maple, 12.
