Kid Cudi cancels tour, including Sacramento stop, due to foot injury

(FOX40.COM) — Hip-hop artist Kid Cudi canceled his upcoming “Insano Tour,” which included a Sacramento stop, following a foot injury he sustained during a Coachella performance.

The Grammy-winning artist announced the tour cancelation on his X account on Wednesday morning. The rapper said he has a broken calcaneus, which is the large bone forming the heel.

The rapper injured his foot after attempting to jump off stage while performing his song “Memories.” The 40-year-old hip-hop artist said his injury requires surgery and will have a “long recovery time.”

“We have to cancel the tour so I can focus on getting better to be out in top shape to rage with you all,” Kid Cudi’s post reads. “There’s just no way I bounce back in time to give 100%. The injury is much more serious than I thought.”

The rapper, known for songs such as “Day ‘n’ Night” and “Pursuit of Happiness,” was scheduled to perform at the Golden 1 Center on Aug. 28.

Pusha T and Jaden Smith were advertised as the opening acts of the Sacramento concert.

It was be Kid Cudi’s first performance in Sacramento since November 2017.

“Anyone who bought tickets will get a full refund, you’ll get an email soon,” the rapper said. “We will be back with new tour dates as soon as possible, and I can’t wait to get back out there with you guys and turn up how we do.”

Fans who bought tickets for the Sacramento and other tour stops will receive refunds to the original method of payment used at the time of purchase, according to Ticketmaster’s website. 

The ticket sales company said refunds should appear in fans’ Ticketmaster accounts within 14 to 21 days.
