Kelly Clarkson Is ‘Better Than Ever’ in New ‘Kellyoke’ Cover

Kelly Clarkson’s fans are gushing over her latest “Kellyoke” cover, with some declaring that the American Idol alum is “better than ever.”

The “Stronger” singer has wowed fans with several of her performances on The Kelly Clarkson Show of late, including many of the musicians she’s paid tribute to through her special karaoke-style spin. Just last week, she celebrated her 42nd birthday by performing Heart’s “Crazy On You” while accompanied by none other than Ann and Nancy Wilson.

On Thursday, May 2, Clarkson introduced her latest “Kellyoke” pick: “Fix You,” one of the hit singles from Coldplay’s 2005 album X&Y.

In a video of the performance that Clarkson’s talk show later shared on Instagram, the “Since U Been Gone” singer’s vocals soared through the shifting dynamics of the lyrics while her band played behind her. She stood mostly in the spotlight, holding onto her standing microphone while dressed in dark jeans and a delicate white T-shirt that featured a striped eyelet design.

At the end of the clip, Clarkson could be heard saying, “How dare he write such a beautiful song,” an apparent reference to Coldplay’s frontman, Chris Martin, who sang lead vocals on the original song.

Many fans who commented on the show’s Instagram post appeared to be stunned by Clarkson’s latest cover.

“Wow, every song you sing sounds absolutely amazing,” one fan wrote.

“That was beautiful,” another person said. “Really really beautiful. I felt that, right to my bones.”

One fan focused their comment on Clarkson’s appearance onstage. “Kelly is glowing! She's looking and sounding better than ever,” they wrote, a nod to Clarkson’s trim look. The singer has been open about her weight loss journey, telling People earlier this year that she “dropped weight” with help from a strategy that involved changes to her exercise and diet routines.

While some fans identified “Fix You” as one of their “favorites” in Coldplay’s repertoire, others said they loved Clarkson’s version despite not being huge fans of the British band. “Not a big Coldplay fan but I love this song and Kelly's version is awesome 🔥🔥,” one Instagram user said.

All in all, the “Piece by Piece” singer’s fans seemed to agree that Clarkson remains, in their collective opinion, the “GOAT,” or “greatest of all time.”

“She’s so good she makes herself cry. And me! And everyone! Omg @kellyclarkson you’re the GOAT 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻,” one fan declared.
