Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, and son Prince Louis.

Kate Middleton snapped a new photo of her and Prince William's youngest son, Prince Louis, on his sixth birthday, just as she does for all of her children every year– despite this year being a little different as she continues cancer treatment.

The new picture was shared to Instagram on Tuesday, April 23, and it showed the youngest of Kate and William's three children in a blue and brown plaid button-up as he lay in the grass and smiled big at the camera.

Alongside the close-up was a sweet message from the royals: "Happy 6th Birthday, Prince Louis! 🎂 Thank you for all the kind wishes today," the statement read before it gave credit where credit is due and attributed the snap to Kate, "📸 The Princess of Wales."

Fans were eager to wish the young one only the happiest of celebrations and point out just how similar he looks to his older brother, Prince George, who will be 11 in July.

"Louis looks so much like George here!" one top-liked comment read.

"OMG 😍. Happy Birthday to Prince Louis 🥳🎊💙. Thank you so much for this beautiful photo. Louis looks so handsome and he looks so much like George here 🥹💙," another fan account shared. "I hope he's having an amazing day 😍."

Others made an effort to shout out the 42-year-old princess for her passionate photography skills, calling it a "lovely picture," "stunning," and a "beautiful photo."

"A very Happy Birthday to Prince Louis! What a beautiful photo The Princess has taken - as she always does.❣️," one gushed.

"Happy Birthday Prince Louis! A sincere thank you to the Prince and Princess of Wales for releasing this photo. ❤️🎂🎈🎉🥳," someone else shared.

The new photo comes about a month after Kate bravely shut down conspiracy theories that stemmed from a recent photo-editing scandal and spoke publicly about her cancer diagnosis and ongoing treatment plan.
