Hyaluronic acid (HA) — often found in serum form — is a hydrating skincare staple for countless dermatologists, aestheticians, and celebrities. Truthfully, the moisture-magnet has been notably absent from my own skincare routine for years; it wasn’t until I experienced The Beautiful Hydration Serum from Kjaer Weis — a brand used by celebrities like Emma Watson — that I realized all the glow I’d been missing. You needn’t take my word for it: The ever-glowing Kate Hudson wore The Beautiful Hydration Serum at the 95th Academy Awards.

Celebrity makeup artist Tonya Brewer created Hudson’s ethereal glow, which relied exclusively on Kjaer Weis skincare and makeup products. “Kate wanted whimsical fairy glam,” Brewer shared via a press release; “I decided to give her the most beautiful glowing skin.” To do so, Brewer prepped Hudson’s skin with The Beautiful Hydration Serum. “I really worked [the serum] to saturate the skin for extra hydration and luminosity,” the artist shared.

The Kjaer Weis Beautiful Hydration Serum is a lightweight, pre-moisturizer skincare step that floods skin with moisture and visible hydration. Designed for all skin types and textures, the formula is devoid of irritants; instead, it imparts a soothing, skin-quenching sheen that leaves skin looking and feeling notably plump and hydrated.

In addition to hyaluronic acid, the formula contains additional skin-soothing, moisture-boosting ingredients. Namely, lavender flower water, derived from its namesake plant. The calming effects of lavender extend beyond its sleep-promoting scent; applied topically to skin, it can quell skin inflammation. Per the brand, the ingredient “soothes and hydrates…for a more even, radiant complexion.” Also of note: polyglutamic acid, an ingredient ten times more hydrating than hyaluronic acid.  "PGA keeps skin super dewy, hydrated, and maintains the bounce…of younger skin," dermatologist Dr. Ava Shamban previously told InStyle. Moreover, PGA prevents the loss of hydration — a phenomenon dubbed transepidermal water loss (TEWL) — by creating a lightweight, invisible barrier on the skin, and in turn, traps hydration.

Unlike other HA serums I’ve tried (and ditched) in years past, The Beautiful Hydration Serum feels incredibly lightweight, and entirely non-sticky. Ergo, it’s excellent for layering beneath virtually any other skincare products you may already use, in addition to foundation and other ensuing cosmetics. Ultimately, the serum has become as essential to my skin as my half-gallon water bottle is to quenching my thirst throughout the day.
