Kanye West talks 'love' for Donald Trump until asked about separating immigrant families

Kanye West visited Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where he continued to defend his support for President Donald Trump. West first announced that support by tweeting a photo of himself wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat.

Even though he received a lot of blowback from his peers, West kept expressing his affection for the president and his “dragon energy.” In fact, he thought it was a shame that more people don’t love Trump.

“When I see people just even like go at the president, it’s like, why not try love?” he said.

In response to West’s comments about giving Trump a chance and being kind to one another, Kimmel said, “That’s a beautiful thought, but in literal terms there are families being torn apart at the border of this country.”

Kimmel then asked West a pointed question: “You so famously and so powerfully said, ‘George Bush doesn’t care about black people.’ It makes me wonder — what makes you think that Donald Trump does, or any people at all?”

West didn’t respond to Kimmel’s question. After a few seconds, the host threw to a commercial break. When the show returned, the two were discussing another topic. West did not discuss Trump again.
