And just like that, another And Just Like That… cast member is out the door.

Karen Pittman, who played Nya Wallace on Max’s Sex and the City continuation, is leaving the series ahead of the upcoming Season 3, according to our sister site Deadline. The exit is reportedly not due to a creative decision but to scheduling issues, with Pittman also co-starring in Apple TV+’s The Morning Show and the upcoming Netflix series Forever.

“It has been a joy to have Karen Pittman play the smart and stunning Professor Nya Wallace on the first two seasons of And Just Like That…, a Max spokesperson said in a statement. “As we have thoroughly enjoyed working with this dynamic actress, so too have others. Due to her commitments to two other streamer series, it has become apparent that filming three shows at once isn’t possible. Due to the production realities, we are disappointed to announce that scheduling conflicts will not allow us to continue with this character as part of Season 3 of And Just Like That… Karen and Nya will be missed, and her Max family and fans will all be cheering her on in her other endeavors.”

Pittman played Nya, a professor who formed a friendship with Miranda, in And Just Like That…’s first two seasons. In the season finale, Nya got elected to the prestigious American Law Institute and began a flirty relationship with a chef named Toussaint, played by CSI alum Gary Dourdan. Pittman’s exit follows the news last month that fellow cast member Sara Ramírez would not be returning as polarizing character Che Diaz in Season 3. The new season of And Just Like That…, with Sex and the City stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis reprising their roles, is slated to begin filming in May.
