Julia Stiles Reveals She Secretly Welcomed a New Member of the Family

Julia Stiles and her husband, Preston Cook, have been keeping a secret!
The couple recently welcomed their third child together, but the pregnancy and birth went unannounced until several months following the baby's arrival.
Stiles dropped the bombshell revelation before a new interview with the New York Times, meant to delve into her directorial debut on the feature film Wish You Were Here, even began, spilling the beans to Jessica M. Goldstein as they sat down to lunch.
“I’m kind of like a bundle of emotions, because I have a 5-month-old baby and I went into directing my first movie,” the 10 Things I Hate About You actress, 43, told the writer. Stiles "didn’t really talk about it” until now, though that didn't dampen her excitement about doing so—especially when it comes to the way being a parent infiltrates her work, from planning things out to setting boundaries with colleagues.
“I think that actually being a mom is really great training for being a director,” she said. “You have to think 10 steps ahead but also be in the present moment. You have to be good at time management. You have to be sensitive to people’s needs and guide them, but also hold a boundary.”
And, despite "running on fumes" thanks to sleepless nights, she feels "more energized" than ever.
Stiles has not yet announced the gender or name of their new addition, but the baby joins big brothers Strummer, 6, and Arlo, 2, whom Stiles also shares with her husband of six years.
