Jon Stewart is joining the chorus of Democrats who are knocking former President Trump for appearing to fall asleep during the first day of his hush money trial.

Trump was in a New York courtroom Monday for the start of his first criminal trial related to a hush money payment made to porn actress Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 presidential election.

“After years of anticipation, the first criminal trial of a former president has begun and by all accounts, it is absolutely riveting,” Stewart said on Monday’s “The Daily Show.”

The Comedy Central host then played a clip of The New York Times’s Maggie Haberman telling CNN’s Jake Tapper that Trump “appeared to be asleep” during parts of the court proceedings.

“Hey, Jake — what part of head down, eyes closed, drool coming out his mouth do you not f‑‑‑ing get over here?” Stewart, doing an impression of a New York-style mobster, said to the camera.

“He’s snoring. He’s doing the honk shoo. He’s doing the me-me-me-me-me. There’s a piece of paper going up and down, and up and down in his mouth. He’s asleep,” Stewart, continuing the impersonation, said.

“Imagine committing so many crimes you get bored at your own trial,” he quipped.

Several high-profile Democrats pounced on reports of Trump getting some shut-eye at his criminal trial. Kate Bedingfield, President Biden’s former communications director, dubbed Trump “Sleepy Don.”

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) wrote on social media, “RIP Sleepy Joe,” repeating one of Trump’s preferred taunts for Biden. “Hello #DrowsyDon!” Swalwell wrote.
