Jon Hamm to speak at Saint Louis University commencement ceremony

ST. LOUIS – Hollywood star Jon Hamm will return to his St. Louis roots this spring to deliver a commencement address at Saint Louis University.

Hamm will pay a visit during SLU’s commencement ceremony next month at Chaifetz Arena. The ceremony will celebrate new SLU graduates. It begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 18.

Throughout his decorated career, Hamm has won Primetime Emmy Awards, Golden Globe Awards and more accolades. One of his biggest claims to fame, AMC’s Mad Men, has aired for seven seasons.

Born and raised in the St. Louis area, Hamm attended John Burroughs School and the University of Missouri before his professional acting career. Hamm is well-known as a St. Louis sports superfan, especially for the Blues. He has also supported charities such as the Alzheimer’s Association, Cancer Research Institute, Stand Up To Cancer and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Saint Louis University says the commencement ceremony, including Hamm’s speech, will be live-streamed on SLU’s website and archived on its YouTube channel.
