John Stamos shares photos with Lori Loughlin as he marks the end of 'Fuller House'
As they completed the final taping of their Netflix series, John Stamos took to Instagram to honor his Fuller House co-stars, including Lori Loughlin.
“The end of an era .. .again,” Stamos wrote. “Last night was final taping of @FullerHouse. When every single network and streamer said no to a Full House re-boot, (and I mean ALL of them) @netflix said yes! And they were kind enough to let us play for five seasons!”
Stamos went on to add that a five-season run is particularly long on Netflix, though it’s “not nearly enough for us.”
“Regardless, we are grateful. I am especially grateful to the cast and crew for keeping the legacy alive and adding so much love to it,” Stamos wrote. “Whether you are new to the Full/Fuller House universe or you’ve been with us since the beginning, I can’t thank you enough for keeping the franchise alive, the characters alive, but most importantly, the love alive between all of us that shines out to all of you.”
The statement came along with a series of photos of the Fuller House cast, doing everything from mugging for the camera backstage to enjoying a family meal together.
He closed out his post by thanking God for “family television like Fuller House.”
“Decency is at an all-time low, and discord at an all-time high,” he wrote. “I am grateful to the fans FOREVER! Love and mercy, John.”
Several of Stamos’s co-stars chimed in, commenting on the Instagram post.
“Well said brother,” co-star Bob Saget chimed in. His statement was followed by Andrea Barber, who starred as Kimmy Gibbler on the series, who wrote “all the love,” followed by a heart emoji.
Several of the photos included longtime co-star Lori Loughlin, who is currently embroiled in the Operation Varsity Blues scandal. Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, are accused of paying a college admissions consultant named Rick Singer $500,000 in order to get their daughters, Olivia Jade and Bella Giannulli, into USC by having them designated as crew recruits, even though neither girl ever participated in the sport.
Though Loughlin has pleaded not guilty to the charges against her, she is reportedly feeling “discouraged” and “concerned” as she sees other parents in the case receive jail time, People reported.
Despite her troubles, several fans were thrilled to see Loughlin included in the photos.
“Glad to see Aunt Becky in these pics! End of a great era!!!” one commenter wrote.
“THANK YOU FOR POSTING PICS W/LORI!” another fan posted. “[People] need to learn to be more loving and forgiving!”
“You are so sweet for posting all these photos with Lori! You are an amazing friend!” another commenter wrote.
The fifth and final season is expected to drop on Netflix later this year. Composed of 18 episodes, it will reportedly debut in two parts, the second of which will arrive in 2020.
Stamos has some exciting plans set for the future. Just last month, it was announced he’s been tapped to headline a 10-episode Disney+ dramedy from David E. Kelley titled Big Shot. He’ll star as a temperamental college basketball coach who gets fired from his job and must take a teaching and coaching job at an elite all-girls private high school, TVLine.com reported.
