John Mulaney might be breathing a sigh of relief right now as reports are coming in about ex-wife Anna Marie Tendler’s memoir, Men Have Called Her Crazy. It’s not out until Aug. 13, but it sounds like the comedian escaped from any criticism from Tendler.

She recently announced the release date of her book on Instagram and shared that the memoir would include “the endless source of my heartbreak and rage — men.” That, naturally, got fans buzzing about what she might say about Mulaney, whose messy romantic timeline between Tendler and current girlfriend Olivia Munn remains unclear to this day. Well, critics of Mulaney might be disappointed to hear from a Page Six source who read the manuscript that “he’s not in it nor is he even alluded to.” This insider claimed that “she talks about the relationship prior to John.”

Tendler stunned their fans in May 2021 when she announced, “I am heartbroken John has decided to end our marriage. I wish him support and success as he continues his recovery.” She had supported him through a very difficult sobriety journey in 2020 as he went through rebab for a myriad of drugs and prescription medication. Just days later, Mulaney was spotted with Munn after they reportedly met through a church they attended in Los Angeles. Before long, Munn revealed she was expecting a baby with the former Saturday Night Live writer, and she was well into her pregnancy.

So, it was reasonable to assume that Tendler’s memoir would include details about her marriage to Mulaney, but it doesn’t appear that way. The Page Six source described her tease as “quite clever” because many fans will make “the assumption is that it’s about John but he’s not in it!” Tendler hasn’t made any further comments about her upcoming work beyond her original post, and Mulaney and Munn have been focused on her breast cancer recovery after announcing the news the day after the Oscars.

Fans will now have to wait until the late summer to find out what topics Tendler covers, but they may not be getting the juicy celebrity memoir they were expecting.
