Joey Sasso was the first reality TV star sent home in Amazon Prime Video’s new series, The GOAT.
In the series premiere, Joey was placed on the block after his co-star, Tayshia Adams (The Bachelorette), won immunity by being named the first GOAT of the season. Although Joey ultimately got the boot, he attempted to swoon Tayshia in a one-on-one conversation. However, according to The Circle winner, he wasn’t being flirtatious.
Joey promises he was not being flirty with Taysia during Episode 1 of The GOAT
“I keep hearing this. I don’t know. I’m in a relationship. I’m as with someone as you can be and was with them during production,” he told Us Weekly. “I haven’t seen [the scene] yet, but all I could say is maybe a lot of times people can take me being me as flirty or a certain type of way.”
He continued, saying he’s very upfront when he’s interested in a woman. “Tayshia was sitting right here. If that was [me flirting], I’d be like, ‘Yep, I was coming at you, girl. I had eyes for you,’” he revealed. “But no, I love Tayshia and nothing more than that. Honestly.”
It’s understandable why some would think Joey was chopping it up with Tayshia. “I am going to do everything the best way I can, which is being honest and loyal,” he told her during Episode 1. “There is nothing that I will say behind your back that I won’t say to your face. A lot of people say that, but I truly mean it.”
After having power for the day, Tayshia told producers during her confessional that she noticed many similarities between being the day’s GOAT and the bachelorette.
“I didn’t really think there were any similarities between The Bachelorette and The Goat. But there kind of are,” she said. “People are trying to win me over and pulling me aside, which I have had that done one too many times.”
