Joe Rogan blasts ‘The View’ over co-hosts feud with author Coleman Hughes: ‘Rabies-infested henhouse’

Joe Rogan slammed “The View” as a “rabies-infested henhouse” Wednesday as one of the hosts accused author Coleman Hughes of being a “charlatan” and “pawn” for his take on race relations.

In late March, “The View” co-host Sunny Hostin “ambushed” Hughes while he appeared on the show to discuss his new book “The End of Race Politics: Arguments for a Colorblind America.”

The author argued that to help solve racial inequality, Americans should try to “treat people without regard to race,” but on “socio-economics.”

Hostin slammed Hughes’ book as “fundamentally flawed” and that his “argument for colorblindness” is “something that the right has co-opted.”

“Many in the black community, if I’m being honest with you, because I want to be, believe that you are being used as a pawn by the right and that you’re charlatan of sorts,” Hostin bluntly told the author during the controversial segment.

She accused the CNN analyst and two-time Democrat voting Independent of being a “conservative,” to which Hughes calmly but sternly rebutted.

“I don’t think there’s any evidence I’ve been co-opted by anyone and I think that’s an ad-hominem tactic people use to not address, really, the important conversations we’re having here,” the 28-year-old Cornell graduate said.

Following his heated debate on “The View,” Hughes’ was a guest on the “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast, where Rogan blasted the show for spewing out “ridiculous things.”

“Well, it is the show that people love to hate,” the 56-year-old podcaster said after Hughes’ told him how much attention he’s been receiving from people siding with him since the segment aired.

Hughes told Rogan he “didn’t know who Sunny Hostin was before going on “The View,” and he had “no idea what to expect,” but he wasn’t expecting the hosts to “ambush” him.

“I wasn’t expecting necessarily for her to kind of try to ambush me in that way and attack my character in that way and I responded to it in the moment as I do, and I didn’t expect it to go as viral as it did, but I think it arguably went more viral than anything I’ve ever done,” Hughes explained.

Hughes alleges the show’s hosts, specifically Hostin, came to the segment with “an agenda.”

Hughes also believed the audience was on his side during this exchange with Hostin.

“Well, their audience is not really their audience,” Rogan, who’s spent nearly four decades in the entertainment industry, claimed. “Their audience is a group of people they bring in to watch television shows.”

Hostin claimed to have read the author’s new book — which was released in February — twice during his segment on “The View,” but told Rogan that’s “almost certainly not true,” saying she was “totally mis-summarizing” his work.

“The odds are very low,” Rogan said of Hostin reading the 250-plus-page book twice with all their guests and the rigorous schedules of everyday life.

Rogan, playing a little devil’s advocate, joked that Hostin may have listened to the audiobook at “double speed, twice.”

Laying it all out on the table, Rogan believes “The View” has a “very specific ideological bubble in which they operate.”

“They always bring on a token conservative woman, they yell over her and silence her,” Rogan said, citing Megan McCain’s stint on the show as an example.

Hughes also noted that he was given 8 minutes to talk about his book and share his message with an “audience” that’s not his “typical audience,” but Hostin took up the majority of the time on the attack against him for his beliefs.

“If anything, The Views audience is the really who needs to hear my message the most,” Hughes explained to Rogan.
