Joe Jonas: Diplo “Ruined” My Vegas Wedding to Sophie Turner
Lucky for Jonaphiles such as myself, Diplo documented Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner’s Las Vegas wedding after the Billboard Music Awards—in great detail—in his Instagram Stories. But now, a few weeks after the nuptials, Jonas is “joking” that he really didn’t appreciate the DJ/producer’s excessive ’gramming.
“He did ruin it,” Jonas, seated with his fellow JoBros, Kevin and Nick, said this week on the London radio show Capital Breakfast With Roman Kemp. “I love Diplo, but he loves his ’gram more than a 13-year-old. He posts every five seconds. He literally, like, livestreamed with dog-face filters.”
True enough, thanks to Diplo, the world was afforded the golden opportunity of watching Turner walk down the aisle of the famed A Little White Wedding Chapel to country duo Dan + Shay’s “Speechless” and bear witness to an Elvis-impersonating officiant work his magic. Jonas’s apparent objection raises some questions about the social media rules at weddings. However, if Jonas and Turner really craved a supremely private wedding, a star-studded, “impromptu” Vegas elopement immediately following the BBMAs was probably not the way?
“We just laughed, we loved it,” Jonas added of Diplo’s documenting. “We thought it was ridiculous. I just love that he was walking into the chapel and he’s like, ‘Gonna hit this wedding real quick.’ ”
