Fitness guru Jillian Michaels and wife DeShanna Marie Minuto are still in wedded bliss.

The couple, who first got married in a small ceremony in 2022 before celebrating their nuptials again the following year in Venice, Italy, rarely spend time apart, Michaels tells PEOPLE exclusively.

“We're together all the f—ing time, so we don't have that problem,” says the Keeping It Real podcast host, 50, when asked if she and Minuto have to schedule time in their busy lives to see each other like many other celebrity couples.

Jokes the star: "We should probably try to get away from each other every two weeks. It'd probably be better!”

Michaels caught up with PEOPLE to mark the two-year anniversary of her slip-and-fall spinal injury (she has since made a "full recovery"), and she adds that she and Minuto spend so much time around each other because they also work together.

“She has to go everywhere with me. I'm not actually weird and needy like that, but she works for my companies,” Michaels explains with a laugh.

Minuto, whom Michaels calls an “artist,” uses her talents as “a creative director for modern companies, whether it's designing my line for iTouch Wearables or it's working on a new label for a company I work with called Alaya Naturals or redesigning the website for The Fitness App," Michaels says.

iTouch Wearables teamed up with Michaels to design a line of fashion-forward smart watches in 2023, and her The Fitness App is home to on-demand workout classes that she teaches.

In other words, Michaels is always up to something, and Minuto is there to help provide the creative vision every step of the way.

“When we work, we work in other rooms of the house, but we are basically living COVID all the time because we're together all the time," Michaels admits.

The wellness expert is also mom to teenage daughter Lukensia and son Phoenix, 11, both of whom she shares with ex Heidi Rhoades.

When Michaels fractured her L3 vertebrae in 2022 after walking into the bathroom to try and get Minuto’s attention (and instead slipping as if on a banana peel, she previously told PEOPLE), her children handled the injury like champs.

“I can't tell if one day they're going to look back and be like, 'That was so scary when mom didn't walk for six months,' or if it just really never fazed them and they thought it would be fine,” she recalls.

Because Michaels couldn't be very mobile during her initial recovery, she wasn't able to do a lot of regular tasks, including reaching down to her toes.

“My son — he's 11 now, so 9 at the time — bent down to tie my shoe and I literally thought like, ‘Oh my God, I'm going to fall apart in public,'" Michaels says. "It was such a full circle [moment] because you remember you tie your kids' shoes and he is tying my shoe.”
