Jessica Alba reveals the sex of her baby on 'The Tonight Show'

On The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon was trying to help Jessica Alba come up with a name for her new baby.

Now, last time I was trying to come up with names for the baby, do you remember that?” asked Fallon, who also noted that Alba’s children, Honor and Haven, both have names that are nouns that start with “H.” Fallon’s first name suggestion for Alba’s new baby was “Hermit,” because he said “Hermit Warren” sounded like a cool author. Alba was definitely not feeling it, though. So the late-night host continued brainstorming: “Hardy, Hale. Hale and Hardy? Hale and Hardy Warren, and then I had Wee Willie Warren. I thought that would be really cute.” And Alba just responded, “That’s terrible.”

Aside from his suggestions just being totally awful, there was another trend: They were all names for the same gender. It was then that Alba decided to go ahead and let the cat out of the bag, revealing, “So, I mean, based off of the theme, I haven’t really revealed a gender, but I’m having a boy.”

Later that day, Alba shared the news on her Instagram, writing, “Cash and I couldn’t be more thrilled to announce…,” but it was weirdly coincidental that Fallon didn’t know the gender prior to brainstorming only boy’s names.

When asked whether her husband, Cash Warren, is excited, Alba shared, “Yeah, he was like: ‘We should name it Dick with a silent ‘H’.’ I’m like, ‘No.'”

And after revealing the sweet news on the show, Fallon had the perfect sweet surprise to go with it — his new personalized Ben & Jerry’s ice cream flavor, which he had on hand for Alba to taste-test.
