'Jeopardy!' Host Mayim Bialik Reveals She Auditioned for This Iconic 'Full House' Role

Mayim Bialik was almost a member of famous Tanner family.
What could have been! Mayim Bialik once auditioned for a starring role on the beloved sitcom Full House, the Jeopardy! host recently revealed.
During the latest episode of Bialik's podcast, "Mayim Bialik's Breakdown," the actress, 46, sat down with Full House alum Candace Cameron Bure, 46, and admitted that she was once gunning for the iconic role of D.J. Tanner.
"My very first audition when I started acting was for Full House," Bialik explained, much to the surprise of Cameron Bure, who ultimately ended up landing the role as the eldest Tanner daughter. But The Big Bang Theory alum says she never expected to get the role anyways, calling the gig a "pity audition," as she had no prior acting experience at the time.
"I remember the feedback that my agent got was that I talked way too fast," she recalled, "It's a funny, random connection, but there you have it."
"I love that!" Cameron Bure exclaimed in response, while Bialik's podcast co-host, Jonathan Cohen, chimed in to say, "In a parallel universe, you [Cameron Bure] were Blossom, she [Bialik] was D.J.," which garnered a laugh from both of the actresses. While her audition for Full House didn't pan out, Bialik would later star as the titular teenage character on the '90s sitcom, Blossom.
Both of the women went on to bond over their similar experiences growing up as child actors, with Cameron Bure saying, "my personality was developed the way it is now because of growing up in the industry."
"There are things that I do that sometimes I'll step back and laugh at myself, like, 'Oh that is such a product of me growing up as a child actor,'" she continued, adding that if someone tells her to do something, she still follows instructions to a T, just like she learned to do as a young actor on a TV set.
In the video, Bialik seemingly couldn't contain herself over how connected she felt to the Fuller House star's story, which she said seemed to mirror her own experience of being in the industry since she was only 11 years old.
"I'm so happy that you relate," Cameron Bure added.
