Jennifer Lawrence, your forever #relatable bestie, is out and about in New York City with her small dog companion, and everything seems fine and good until you notice HER DOG IS NOT WEARING A LEASH.

JLaw. Girl! I love you, girl, but, girl. This is not OK.

Now, I'm sure Jen is normally a very good dog owner, but this is poor dog owner behavior, and I cannot let it stand! Ever since I saw a seemingly magnificently-behaved leash-less dog get spooked by a skateboard and run into traffic, I am on a mission to end this nonsense, and JLaw, I'm sorry, girl, but you're the first person in my tracks.

Let us examine some very uncool photos of a woman and her dog, sans leash.

1. Here they are legit breaking the law:

2. Here they are about to be eaten by my big dog who sees small dogs and wants to eat them very badly:

3. Here they are right before her dog potentially lunges into traffic when some bananas person (me) comes to aggressively snuggle her:

4. Here they are about to scare the shit out of someone who is terrified of dogs and walking in the opposite direction:

5. Here they are right before her dog is dognapped by a crazed celebrity stalker:

6. And finally, here they are before JLaw's dog steals a fried chicken leg from a child, swallows it immediately, and then has to be rushed into emergency surgery (It's a thing!!):

You might think I'm being dramatic - and I am very dramatic; it's one of my best traits - but last month I saw a tiny dog who seemed perfectly fine being off leash run into traffic and get hit by a car. The dog survived, but it might not have ended so well. That is why leashes exist.

SO IN CONCLUSION:
