Jennifer Ashton To Depart ‘GMA3’ And ABC News

Dr. Jennifer Ashton, who is ABC News’ chief medical correspondent and co-host of GMA3, plans to leave the network.
Ashton has been with the network since 2012. She recently launched Ajenda, a health and wellness newsletter. A network spokesperson confirmed her planned departure, which will be at the end of June.

Ashton became co-host of GMA3 as the show focused on the Covid pandemic.
“It has been an honor to be at ABC and help cover the biggest health issues in the country and world over the past 13 years,” she said in a statement. “My coworkers have become more than friends’ they’ve become family and have seen me through the biggest professional moments of my life. I feel fortunate to have worked with the best in the business.”
She said on GMA3 that she thought that the timing was right to move to the new venture.
