Jenna Elfman Would Totally Do a ‘Dharma & Greg’ Reboot

Now that TV reboots are all the rage (see: Will & Grace, Gilmore Girls, Prison Break), Jenna Elfman fans might be happy to know that the actress would be happy to revisit her long-running ABC comedy Dharma & Greg. When Elfman dropped by Yahoo TV for a Facebook Live chat about her new ABC comedy, Imaginary Mary, one fan asked if there are any roles she’d like to revisit, and Dharma Freedom Finkelstein Montgomery was at the top of the list.

“Dharma I’d do in a second,” says Elfman. “It was truly a deeply pleasurable five years of my life.” Not only was playing Dharma fun for Elfman, but also the actress says she loved hearing about the positive effect her free-spirit character had on fans. “From fan mail to people on the street, they’d say, ‘It really affected me… It made me feel OK about being myself.'”

Also on Elfman’s list of characters she’d like to revisit: Anna, the object of affection for both Ben Stiller and Ed Norton in the 2000 big-screen comedy Keeping the Faith. “It was the first role I played that was a woman, and not a girl,” says Elfman. “I really grew as an artist from playing that role.”

Imaginary Mary airs Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. on ABC.
