Jenifer Lewis Revealed As Cleocatra On ‘The Masked Singer’

Jenifer Lewis was eliminated from The Masked Singer on Wednesday night (April 24). The actress performed in the series as Cleocatra, a giant feline dressed in ancient Egyptian-inspired costuming. This week’s episode tasked the contestants to deliver songs from girl groups.
According to The Wrap, the 67-year-old was assumed to be Roberta Flack and Loretta Devine with her rendition of En Vogue’s “Free Your Mind” by panelists Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Rita Ora, and Robin Thicke. The outlet notes that panelist Ken Jeong and fans recognized the Black-Ish star’s signature sound.
“Nobody on Earth didn’t know that was me, with this voice,” she detailed to the outlet and laughed. “My voice is more famous than me.”
Lewis, who suffered a near-fatal injury during an incident in the Serengeti in 2022 and is still recovering, continued to discuss her time on the competition series through a comedic lens.
“I was in so much pain, I wish they had voted me off in the first place,” shared the Missouri native. “No — I didn’t care anything about that, honey. I’ll tell you one thing. I bet if I wasn’t in that mask, wouldn’t nobody have voted me off anything! And if Jenifer Lewis was in full form, girl, I would have won every season. They would have brought me back every season.”
She continued, “But no, I’ve got to tell you — I was in too much pain to give you guys 100%. But I did the best I could, and I had a blast. The important thing is that I had fun, because that’s what my friends wanted. They wanted me to get out of bed and go have fun, and I did.”
The Masked Singer is currently in its 11th season and airs on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox. This is the first iteration to feature themed episodes, including the aforementioned girl’s group night, as well as TV theme night, and shower anthem night.
Celebrities who have performed on the show include Teyana Taylor, Ginuwine, Ne-Yo, Gladys Knight, Seal, Patti LaBelle, Lil Wayne, Rob Gronkowski, Lonzo Ball, Wayne Brady, Wendy Williams, Dionne Warwick, Kermit The Frog, and Wiz Khalifa.
