Jeezy says his estranged wife wanted a second child after he revealed his intent to end their marriage. The rapper, whose legal name is Jay Wayne Jenkins, claims that the former talk show host sought out medical professionals, despite being aware of his plan to file for divorce.

According to PEOPLE, Jeannie Mai “contacted their same doctor about In Vitro Fertilization (IVF),” after she was made aware that legal paperwork was filed in June 2023. The Atlanta native and his legal team claim that Mai’s allegations of abuse and inappropriate behavior against Jeezy were due to him not agreeing to move forward with the procedure.

“The Petitioner had to contact the doctor directly in August 2023 to let her know that he would not be participating in the fertilization of any additional eggs with the Respondent,” detailed court documents, as per PEOPLE.

“If [he] were so violent as the Respondent claims, why would she want to have a second child with him? If the Petitioner were so irresponsible and created such an unsafe home environment for the parties’ minor child, why would the Respondent desperately want to have a second baby with the Petitioner? The answer is because the Petitioner is not violent, and the Petitioner is not irresponsible.”

The documents also claim that Mai “introduced strife, physical and emotional abuse, and volatility into the parties’ marriage,” and that she was “used to docile men.”

Last month, Mai accused her estranged husband of domestic violence, citing instances where he allegedly “choked Jeannie from behind as she was ascending the stairs, and he then pushed her down the steps,’ blacked her eye, and had a firearm around their 2-year-old child Monaco.”

“The allegations are not only false but also deeply disturbing, especially coming from someone I loved. This malicious attempt to tarnish my character and disrupt my family is ridiculous,” said Jeezy in a statement at the time.

Jeezy has requested primary custody amid the divorce proceedings.

Jeannie Mai and Jeezy were married in March 2021 in an intimate ceremony during the coronavirus pandemic.

“…We had to change all of our wedding plans due to COVID. After Jeezy’s mother unexpectedly passed, we quickly learned that life is too short. And at the end of the day, Jeezy and I really just wanted to become husband and wife. So we decided to turn our original wedding into a mini-mony, where we exchanged our vows in front of our immediate family and a few close friends,” detailed The Real co-host of their walk down the aisle.

The couple welcomed their only child together in January 2022, Jeannie’s first and Jeezy’s fourth.
