Jeannie Mai and Jeezy’s messy divorce has just taken a turn. New court documents obtained by The Shade Room reveal the former The Real host is accusing the Georgia rapper of domestic violence and child neglect. The documents described between three to four incidents of physical abuse against Jeannie.

According to the outlet, one incident occurred in San Francisco, Calif., on April 14, 2022, where Jeezy allegedly “choked Jeannie from behind as she was ascending the stairs, and he then pushed her down the steps.” Another instance occurred in 2022, three weeks after Jeannie gave birth to their daughter Monaco. Records show that Jeezy allegedly said to his then-wife, “I can’t wait to divorce you when we get back,” and then struck her with a closed fist across her cheekbone and eye.

The “Put On” artist has since issued a statement on his Instagram page, denying all the allegations and calling them an attempt to hurt his public image. “The allegations are not only false, but also deeply disturbing, especially coming from someone I loved. This malicious attempt to tarnish my character and disrupt my family is ridiculous,” he wrote.

He continued, shifting the focus on his daughter. “It’s disheartening to witness the manipulation and decit at play and at this time my main concern is being an active father to our daughter as I continue to fight for court mandated joint custody. Rest assured, the truth will prevail through the proper legal channels,” he said.

The court documents also contained images taken of the injuries Mai sustained following the alleged attacks. She shared text messages from her ex-husband apologizing for his behavior that caused the injuries, photos of bruises on her arms and legs, and more.

In terms of the child neglect accusations, Jeannie was concerned about their toddler’s alleged access to Jeezy’s firearms. She said she once found Monaco with the rapper’s Louis Vuitton bag, which allegedly had her estranged husband’s AK-47 was inside. She then removed the child from the Atlanta residence on Oct. 11, 2023.

Earlier this month, news broke that Jeezy was requesting primary custody of Monaco. According to PEOPLE, the rapper filed for primary custody on Wednesday, April 10, superseding the current custody/parenting agreement that he and Mai settled on in mediation. Per the filing, he stated that he “does not know where the minor child actually lives, or what or who is caring for the minor child while Mai ‘is working.’” A hearing has been scheduled for May 2.
