Jana Kramer slams mommy-shamers over sleep training her 2-month-old son: 'He looks pretty happy to me'

Jana Kramer has no time for mommy-shamers. The country singer fired back after she was bashed on social media for revealing how she’s sleep-training her 2-month-old son, Jace.

“Alright trolls, I’m talking to you guys” she began on her Instagram Story. In the video, Kramer explained to her husband how people came for her because she said she’s using Baby Wise as a sleep training guide. The parent police called it the “Cry it out method,” declaring it dangerous for her baby.

“We do not let him scream and cry,” she clarified. “I don’t even technically know if at this age babies are allowed to self-soothe. When he cries, we feed him. OK? … We don’t just let him scream and cry.”

“Get off my page and stop being trolly,” she added. “We’re taking very good care of our baby. He looks pretty happy to me.”

It wasn’t Kramer’s photo that got people riled up, but the parenthetical comment in her caption: “(We are sleep training him using baby wise.)”

“Just gonna leave this here,” someone wrote with an article arguing that Baby Wise is linked to dehydration. “AAP does not condone it.” (This claim has been debated for years.)

“I hope people actually do their own research when it comes to ‘sleep training’ and ‘self-soothing.’ Studies prove that babies don’t learn to self soothe and nor should they,” another woman commented. “Babies come to realize that their needs are not being met, so their brain shuts down. They are not settled they have just stopped crying because they know their needs aren’t going to be met. Breaks my heart that people are actually willing to leave their babies to cry just so they can get a little more sleep for themselves. Sleep deprivation is hard but I wouldn’t put my baby through that stress so I could get an extra hour or two.”

Kramer fired back to her, writing, “What are you talking about? I never said that.”

The former One Tree Hill actress had tons of support from fellow moms.

“Baby wise for the win!! I used baby wise with both of my girls & wouldn’t trade it for the world!!! He is so precious,” one Instagram user wrote.

Another woman added, “Just here to say, you do you Mommy! Baby Wise was a God send to our family.”

Kramer and her husband, Mike Caussin, also have a 2-year-old daughter, Jolie.
