James Corden to Star in a New Snapchat Show

James Corden is coming to Snapchat! The Late Late Show host is pairing up with CBS Interactive for a new digital series titled James Corden’s the Next James Corden, which will air exclusively on Snap Inc.’s Snapchat Discover platform in fall 2017.

The show will be a six-episode offshoot of The Late Late Show, featuring a faux reality show competition, with Corden pretending to search for his successor as host of his show. He will find a group of young potential replacements and put them through a series of tests to determine the best, in a story line reminiscent of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The show will feature appearances from bandleader Reggie Watts as well as other familiar faces. It will be shot vertically for optimal viewing on mobile devices.

Corden is following in the footsteps of Jimmy Fallon, who launched his own Tonight Show offshoot on Snapchat Shows in November. Conan O’Brien will also be producing an animated series on Snapchat shows.

James Corden’s the Next James Corden marks the first collaboration between CBS and Snapchat for Discover.
