Steve Greig was crushed after the death of his 12-year-old dog, according to the Washington Post. So he went to the shelter and adopted the oldest dog there.

Since then Greig has taken in dozens of elderly and disabled dogs. But he didn't stop at dogs. He also has a 13-year-old pig named Bikini, four chickens, two rabbits, one duck and a turkey.

And, the retired accountant has attracted more than animals; he has more than 1M followers on Instagram, where he shares what his daily life is like looking after the animals that need him.
