Infinite Office lets you create your own virtual workplace

Infinite Office is a virtual reality software that allows users to set up a virtual office anywhere they want to work.

The virtual office program, which was announced in September 2020 by Facebook’s Oculus team, allows Oculus Quest 2 headset owners to effectively work across multiple digital screens without the need for additional space or physical equipment.

Launched amid the coronavirus pandemic — which closed down offices en masse and forced employees across the world into indefinite work-from-home situations — Infinite Office aims to create a virtual office space that feels more productive and flexible than a typical home environment.

The program even allows users to change their backgrounds, transporting them to literally anywhere in the world they wish to work.

Several of the Infinite Office features will begin rolling out for Quest 2 this winter, according to the Oculus blog.

The company has also announced that it has begun experimenting with third parties like Spatial to enhance virtual, co-located meetings.

“There’s more in store, and we’re excited to share what’s next,” Oculus said in a blog post.

With the power of Verizon’s ultra-fast 5G wideband — which is a whopping 25 times faster than today’s 4G networks in the U.S. — Infinite Office only stands to improve upon its realistic user experience as it continues to develop.
