Ice Spice has been cast in Spike Lee upcoming adaptation of Akira Kurosawa's crime thriller High and Low.

The project stars Denzel Washington and marks Ice Spice's debut acting role. Variety has reported that Ice Spice has already begun filming. The movie is also the fifth collaboration between Washington and Lee. The film is produced in partnership with Apple Original Films and A24 with A24 handling the theatrical release before a global launch on Apple TV+. To commemorate the beginning of production, Apple Original Films posted to X a photo of Washington and Lee earlier this week with the caption, "No. 5 now in production."

The film is an English adaptation to Kurosawa's original 1963 film which follows the story of a businessman's ruin after a ransom payment to kidnappers. The project is produced by Todd Black and executive producers Peter Guber, Matthew Lindner, Chris Brigham and Katia Washington.
