HUNTSVILLE, Ala (WHNT) — The ninth annual Huntsville Comic and Pop Culture Expo is set to land in the Rocket City this weekend.

The annual convention is set to make its return to the Von Braun Center from April 12 to April 14. The expo will play host to plenty of vendors, panels, and a gaggle of celebrity guests from all corners of pop culture.

Legislation aimed at alleviating Belle Mina quarry concerns to be heard in committee Wednesday

With guests ranging from Steve Burns from Blues Clues to Oscar Nunez from the hit show “The Office” to the voice of Mario himself, Charles Martinet, the expo features a bit of something for everyone.

The convention will also feature a bevy of options for different panels and a show floor filled with all kinds of booths and vendors.

Last year’s event was a bit of a destination for Star Trek fans in particular with both original series star William Shatner and Next Generation alum Brent Spiner stopping by and even taking some time to talk to News 19’s Danielle Dozier.

This year is also looking to be a good one for Trek fans as George Takei, who played Lt. Hikaru Sulu in Star Trek: The Original Series, and Jonathan Frakes, who played Command William T. Riker in Star Trek: The Next Generation, will be in attendance this year.

Both also have panels with Frakes hitting the stage on Friday and Takei sitting down to talk about his seven-decade career on Sunday.

The con will also have something for Star Wars fans with members of the Star Wars: Rebels cast getting together Saturday to look back at the animated series from the galaxy far far away.

That’s just the beginning of what the pop culture expo has in store. This year News 19’s Chief Meteorologist Danielle Dozier will once again be bringing you interviews and other fun from the show floor on Friday afternoon.
