Deadpool and Wolverine isn’t out until 26 July, but Hugh Jackman already has his next film lined up.

It’s called The Death of Robin Hood, an A24-produced movie starring Jackman alongside Jodie Comer (Killing Eve).

Directed by Michael Sarnoski, who helmed Pig as well as upcoming blockbuster A Quiet Place: Day One, The Death of Robin Hood was one of the most sought-after film projects until A24 won the rights to release it theatrically.

According to Variety, “negotiations were highly competitive with several potential buyers circling the film.”

The film is said to be dark in tone, with Robin Hood “grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder,” as per the official synopsis. Robin Hood is “a battle-worn loner [who] finds himself gravely injured and in the hands of a mysterious woman, who offers him a chance at salvation.”

Production on The Death of Robin Hood will reportedly begin in 2025, with a release set for 2026.
