The Hollywood Reporter Lands Two 2024 Daytime Emmy Nominations

On Friday, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) announced the nominees for the 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards, and The Hollywood Reporter earned two nominations.

Off Script With The Hollywood Reporter — the magazine’s iconic roundtable series, which aired on SundanceTV — earned a nom for best arts and popular culture program. The segment, moderated by Mesfin Fekadu and hosted by Yvonne Orji, was nominated alongside Billion Dollar Babies: The True Story of the Cabbage Patch Kids (Vimeo), King of Collectibles: The Goldin Touch (Netflix), Oprah and “The Color Purple” Journey (Max), Variety Studio: Actors on Actors (PBS) and Working in the Theatre (AmericanTheatreWing.org).

The publication was also nominated for best short form program with Hollywood Atelier: Rob Pickens, conceived by Chris Gardner, which sees the Beverly Hills-based wigmaker meet with regular collaborator Jamie Lee Curtis to consult on a look for an upcoming role. Hollywood Atelier was nominated in the category alongside Catalyst (LinkedIn News), The Dads (Netflix), How Una Pizza Napoletana Became the No.1 Ranked Pizza in the World (Eater) and Temple of Film: 100 Years of the Egyptian Theatre (Netflix). Both programs were executive produced by Jason Rovou.

THR has received nominations before. In 2021, it landed a Daytime Emmy nomination for its series Close Up With The Hollywood Reporter, marking its third Daytime Emmy nod for the series. Close Up With The Hollywood Reporter previously earned a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2017 and 2019. THR also previously won a Los Angeles area Emmy for its roundtable discussion The Hollywood Reporter in Focus: The Wolf of Wall Street, which aired on PBS SoCal.

With this year’s nominations, two CBS soaps, The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless, led the field with 12 nominations apiece. The Kelly Clarkson Show led the nominees in the talk series categories with nine nods.

A notable acting nominee is Dick Van Dyke for his guest performance on Days of Our Lives. The TV legend has previously won two Daytime Emmys (along with four Primetime Emmys) in his career, and this year’s nod makes him the oldest Daytime Emmy nominee.

The Daytime Emmy Awards telecast will be presented live on Friday, June 7, at 8 p.m. ET/delayed PT, on CBS and available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+. The Daytime Creative Arts & Lifestyle Emmy Awards will be presented on Saturday, June 8, and streamed on The Emmys apps and at watch.TheEmmys.tv. Both ceremonies will take place at the Westin Bonaventure Los Angeles.
