PLAINFIELD – Author Colleen Hoover's book "It Ends With Us" is set in Boston, but parts of the film adaptation of the hit novel were filmed in Queen City.
A Hillside Avenue home was the set of the main character's childhood house.
"I would surmise that the director and production designer were looking for a house with Dutch Colonial architecture, since the house they chose is a lovely example of it," said Steven Gorelick, executive director of the New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Commission.

Filming took place last summer and this January for the movie that hits the big screen on June 21.
In the film, Blake Lively plays Lily, a 23-year-old floral shop owner who falls in love with 30-year-old neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid, played by Justin Baldoni, who is also the film's director.
But when Lily and Ryle's relationship becomes abusive, Lily considers an exit with her first love Atlas, played by Brandon Sklenar.
Although the novel "It Ends With Us" came out in 2016, it blew up in popularity on TikTok during the pandemic.
In 2022, Colleen Hoover sold 8.6 million books, which is more than the number of Bible copies sold that year.
