Hedi Slimane has big things planned for the end of the year. The Celine creative director, who has not showcased a physical womenswear show since the Covid-19 pandemic, has announced the brand's return to the runway to present the Fall/Winter 2023 womenswear collection.

Set to happen on December 8, two months ahead of the official show season, Celine has chosen The Wiltern in Los Angeles as the location to commemorate the French luxury label's runway return -- this decision has been guided by Slimane's affinity to the place, where he was primarily based during his tenure at Saint Laurent.

Despite Celine having skipped the Spring/Summer 2023 season, Slimane has also announced that an exclusive film is expected to be released later this month on the brand's website and social media channels.

December might be a quiet month for the fashion industry, with only Dior presenting its pre-fall menswear collection in Egypt and Chanel opting for Senegal for its annual Métiers d'Art show. However, Celine is confident to gain attention and engagement with its long-awaited runway return.
