Wands at the ready: There's a magical new Harry Potter project coming soon!

On Thursday, April 25, Audible and Pottermore Publishing announced they were teaming up to release the Harry Potter stories as full-cast audio productions for the first time.

Fans around the world have consumed 1.4 billion hours of the books on Audible so far, and that number will no doubt grow as it was revealed that the new listening experience is scheduled for a late 2025 release date.

The new version of J.K. Rowling's 1997 book Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone — known as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in the U.S. — will be released first, followed by 1998's Chamber of Secrets, 1999's Prisoner of Azkaban, 2000's Goblet of Fire, 2003's Order of the Phoenix and 2005's Half-Blood Prince, concluding with 2007's Deathly Hallows.

“Beloved the world over, Harry Potter stories have captivated and enchanted fans of all ages for nearly three decades," said Bob Carrigan, CEO of Audible.

"With millions upon millions of Audible listeners devouring Harry Potter at an astonishing rate, we are thrilled about the opportunity to be part of this next chapter – delighting new and old fans alike with a reinvigorated listening experience that Audible is expertly positioned to create," he went on.

“Together with Pottermore Publishing, best-in-class producers, and over 100 actors, we will introduce a groundbreaking new soundscape for the Wizarding World, as well as performances that will inspire our listeners’ imaginations and redefine these quintessential characters for a new generation,” Carrigan concluded.

"J.K. Rowling’s storytelling lends itself perfectly to the application of new audiobook technologies, and we’re certain this sophisticated, immersive audio experience will not only add a new listening dimension for existing fans but will introduce a whole new generation of listeners to the wizarding world," Blair continued.
