Harris Reed Dons Dramatic Proportions in Patterned Silk Pantsuit With 3D Thorns for Met Gala 2024 Red Carpet

Harris Reed made a dramatic entrance at the Met Gala on Monday in New York.
The genderfluid designer, who’s currently at the helm of Nina Ricci, arrived in a patterned silk pantsuit. Reed’s look featured a three-dimensional corset, a draped train and a halo lined with black arrows.

Reed’s design originally debuted on the runway as part of the fall 2024 collection “Shadow Dance,” which took place in February.

Hair dresser Pete Burkill styled Reed’s fiery tresses in beachy waves, while makeup artist Sofia Tilbury gave the designer a pop of pink blush and a matching stained lip.
Reed was hardly the only Met Gala attendee to embrace dramatic proportions: Demi Moore was dressed in a similar design from Reed’s “Shadow Dance” collection, while Cardi B’s ruffled Windowsen train took up most of the red carpet.
Reed became creative director of Nina Ricci in 2022.
“I am truly excited to challenge the landscape of what femininity means across fashion and beauty in such an iconic house,” the designer said in a statement at the time.

The Met Gala raises funds for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and celebrates the Costume Institute’s annual exhibits. This year’s theme, “The Garden of Time,” nods to the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” exhibit, which will open to the public on Friday. The 2024 event is notably cochaired by Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth and Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour.
