The "Halloweentown II: Kalabar's Revenge" actors met on set, but didn't strike up a romance until years later.

Kimberly J. Brown and Daniel Kountz, who costarred in Halloweentown II: Kalabar's Revenge, got married over the weekend.

The couple tied the knot on April 19 at the Spanish Hills Club in Camarillo, Calif., PEOPLE reports. "We both love nature, so we definitely wanted to have the ceremony outside amongst the trees, and it overlooked a valley and all that beautifulness before we went inside and we partied it up," Kountz said after they exchanged vows under a flower-adorned arbor.

Among the invited friends and family was actress Judith Hoag, who played the mother of the Piper clan in Disney's Halloweentown movies.

The couple met on the set of the Halloweentown sequel, but there was no romance between the young actors at that time. "We were strictly professional," Kountz said. They kept in touch over the years but didn't really reconnect until 2016 when Brown contacted Kountz about a project.

"I was shooting some comedy sketches for my YouTube channel and thought, 'Some of the fans might recognize it and think it's cool,'" Brown told PEOPLE. "So I reached out to him, and we worked on the sketches but also started catching feelings, I guess, as the kids say."

Kountz "caught feelings" almost instantly. "We met up at a bar, and I was waiting there for a little Kimberly J. Brown to come in and in walks a beautiful, well-put-together full-grown woman," he said. "I was like, 'Oh, well, hello there. I believe we've both grown up a little bit.' Then that was pretty much it for me. I was smitten."

The couple got engaged in 2022. Maybe now that the wedding is in the rearview mirror, they can finally get around to watching Halloweentown II together. "We've never sat and watched it," Brown told PEOPLE in September. "I see it at times with my nephew, my niece, so I get to see different parts of it, but I don't know that we've ever sat and watched it."
