Congratulations are in order for Justin and Hailey Bieber, who announced they’re expecting their first child.
The parents-to-be shared the news on Instagram with a video of their low-key vow renewal ceremony in Hawaii. (The Biebers first tied the knot at a New York City courtroom in 2018, followed by a grand The Notebook-inspired ceremony in South Carolina in 2019.) They appeared as they often do: delightfully mismatched. Hailey looked bridal in a translucent veiled lace gown and dark shades from Saint Laurent, while Justin—perhaps heeding GQ’s advice to not try to look timeless on your wedding day, per our recent guidebook to wedding style—wore a furry bomber jacket from The Frankie Shop and an Atlanta Braves cap.
Hailey and I discussed the prospect of parenthood for her GQ Hype cover story in October, where she acknowledged that any possibility of raising kids out of the spotlight is “probably totally unavoidable.” Motherhood, she said then, “is something that I look forward to. It’s also such a private, intimate thing. It’s something that’s going to come when it comes.”
Hailey—who is also the daughter of Stephen Baldwin—agreed that it “would be genius” to have a “Nepo Baby” onesie made for her future child, to match the T-shirt she wore to much fanfare last year. While we’re at it, may we also suggest a pint-sized Braves fitted to match Justin’s?
