Gwen Stefani brought girly grunge style to the Coachella stage on Saturday, wearing sparkling Dr. Marten boots.
Reunited with her 1980s rock band No Doubt, the “Sweet Escape” singer took the stage during Weekend 2 of Coachella 2024 to perform some of their iconic hits like “Just A Girl” and “Don’t Speak.” The annual music and arts festival was headlined by Lana Del Rey and also featured sets from Sabrina Carpenter, J Balvin, and Doja Cat. The two weekends were filled with surprise performances from stars like Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo, who joined Stefani last week to perform the band’s 2000 single, “Bathwater.”

During her duet with Rodrigo, the singer was also seen repping her favorite footwear brand wearing the same crystal-embellished boots. During this 80-minute set, she was also seen wearing red plaid knee-high boots, also hailing from the brand. Stefani often gravitates towards lengthened footwear silhouettes. She performed with her husband and country singer Blake Shelton during CRS 2024 in February wearing denim knee-high boots.

Paired with fishnet stockings and knee-high socks, Stefani’s look, styled by Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn, was completed by black Dr. Marten boots. The lace-up boots reached up to the middle of her calf and had a crystal-embellished upper. The set was completed by a black translucent sole with the brand’s infamous yellow stitching running through it.
About Dr. Martens Boots
Dr. Martens was originally founded in 1945 when a 25-year-old soldier and medical doctor, DDr. Klaus Maertens created an air-cushioned sole for the recovery of his broken foot. The original eight hole 1460 boot was the brand’s first model and marketed to Britain’s working class for only 2 euros. Their rugged durability was eventually recognized in the punk rock community and became a symbol for self-expression in the British youth culture. Now, the brand is now globally recognized because of its yellow stitching on a variety of leather footwear styles.
