The King of the Ring tournament is back, and two WWE superstars have already entered their names into it.

During tonight’s episode of WWE RAW, Gunther took to the ring with the rest of Imperium for the first time since his WWE Intercontinental Championship loss to Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 40. On the mic, Gunther said he did not intend to badmouthing Zayn. Instead, Gunther is ready to move forward after his incredible reign as champion, and he’ll do that by entering his name into the King of the Ring tournament.

Gunther said that once he wins that, he plans on showing the WWE Universe just how good he is by going after either the Intercontinental Championship or World Championship.

Shortly after that, Gunther was interrupted by The New Day, who came down to trash talk Gunther. In the ring, Xavier Woods — who won the last King of the Ring tournament in 2021 — said that he was still the reigning King, and that Gunther was nothing but a usurper.
